The woman who took pictures of New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell and her NOPD security guard having drinks together on a balcony will have to wait another month to challenge the mayor's allegations that she has harassed her.

Cantrell hired a new attorney and got the judge to continue the case, while keeping the temporary restraining order against Anne Breaud in place.

Breaud's lawyer says the mayor's council, Eddie Castaing, asked for a permanent ban against Braud.

"I was a bit taken aback when Eddie said all she wants is just a consent judgment... and just have her agree to stay away from the mayor," Justin Schmidt told WWL's Newell Normand. "Obviously, I said, 'Absolutely not!'"

Schmidt wants Cantrell to have to have to substantiate here claims against his client and wants the Mayor to pay his fees and court costs.

"We filed an anti-slap suit motion," he said. "Which basically puts the mayor in the position of being if she can't substantiate her claims, she's on the hook for attorney's fees and costs."

The next hearing is now set for June 18th.

Breaud took pictures of Cantrell and Officer Jeffrey Vappie on a French Quarter balcony, apparently eating and drinking while he was on duty assigned to protect the mayor.  It led to Vappie being removed from the mayor's security detail.

Vappie's estranged wife claimed in divorce proceedings that Cantrell and Vappie have been having an extramarital affair.

The two were caught on city crime cameras going in and out of the city-owned  Pontalba apartment on Jackson Square together all hours of the day and night while the mayor was still married.  Her husband has since died after battling an illness.
