Gas prices in Nola creep higher for the third day in a row

Gas prices continue to climb daily in New Orleans. The price of gas has set another record high for the third day in a row.

According to AAA gas price data, the current average high price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the New Orleans area climbed overnight to $4.24, which is up one cent from yesterday’s gas price of $4.23.

Compare that to the average high one week ago which was $4.06. Last month, the cost for a gallon of gas was below $4 at an average high price of $3.93.

The price of gas climbs slightly moving between the different grades of octane. The average for one gallon of mid-grade gas in the metro area is currently $4.58, which is also up two cents from yesterday’s $4.56, while Premium gas sits at $4.89 on average per gallon, also up from yesterday’s $4.86.

Diesel fuel also sets a new record high today, sitting at an average of $5.24 per gallon.

In Louisiana, the average price of regular unleaded gas is $4.24, an increase of two cents overnight, and the national average is $4.59 according to AAA gas price data.
