New Orleans Police Detective Everett Briscoe will be back home in New Orleans.
As WWLTV’s Erika Ferrando reports, Houston police arrived to the funeral home to pay their last respects.
Briscoe’s body will be transported from the Respect for Life Funeral Home in Houston today.
Briscoe, 41, was fatally shot Saturday at the Grotto Ristorante on Westheimer Road.
The 13-year NOPD veteran was in Houston only a few hours on a vacation trip with fellow Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club members when two armed robbers gunned him down. Zulu member Dyrin "DJ" Riculfy was also critically injured in the shooting as he sat with Briscoe at the restaurant. Riculfy is fighting for his life at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston.
The senseless shooting had NOPD Police Chief and city leaders in tears, pleading for an end to the violence.
Houston Police are searching for the suspects spotted on security cameras. A $10,000 reward is offered for any information that can help police find those responsible.
