The color green will be on display in full measure, as the Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Parade will march in its full glory and for the full length come Saturday March 12.
The entire traditional route will also be protected by a full compliment of off-duty police officers providing security.
It was Monday when Communications Director Beau Tidwell initially said the route would likely be trimmed due to an officer shortage.
After the decision was made to maintain the full route of the parade the organization in charge of parade took to Twitter with the good news:
It's OFFICIALLY official! We just received word from the The City Of NOLA that our parade will indeed march along our traditional route! See you Saturday!
Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Cub board member Jeff Delatte thanked the City of New Orleans telling the New Orleans Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate: "I know they were working very hard to try to find the best way to move forward."
