There’s no doubt that Olivia Dunne’s star has risen to incredible heights in the past year. And with the increased fame comes a higher demand for her attention from her adoring public of all ages.
In an interview with the “Full Send Podcast,” Dunne said her popularity has really exploded since her appearance two months ago in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, a first for a college athlete.
“Ever since I did Sports Illustrated, too, there’s like 12-year-olds and then their dads, which is like, I mean it kinda comes with what I do,” she said. “But usually whenever people come up to me and they’re older they say it’s for their daughter’s friend’s sister’s brother’s dog.”
The female fans aren’t usually as bold, she said.
“They usually don’t come up to me as much as the guys or at least they’re a little more nervous to,” Dunne said. “I love meeting all my fans, but especially the girls. They’re always so sweet.”
Dunne was most recently mobbed in Omaha, where some of her fellow LSU athletes took home the national title in baseball.
She enters her senior season with LSU gymnastics as one of the leaders in NIL among all college athletes with $3.3 million worth of endorsements, according to On3.
