Police search for person of interest in N.O. East gas station shooting

The NOPD searches for a man wanted for an alleged shooting at a New Orleans East gas station.

Police are looking for Devin Bateman, 24, as a person of interest in connection with a shooting. He is not wanted as a suspect in the shooting but investigators want to question him about it.

It happened Friday in the 6000 block of Bullard Avenue, just off the I-10 exit.

The New Orleans Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in connection with the shooting investigation.

According to investigators, shortly before 12:00 A.M., Seventh District officers responded to investigate a call of a shooting where an adult male was shot. The victim was transported via private conveyance to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Bateman is not wanted on criminal charges at this time. However, detectives feel that he may have information that is vital to the investigation and wish to interview him.
