The suspect in Friday’s shooting outside a Southern University fraternity house is reportedly awaiting trial for two separate violent crimes for which he posted bail.

According to our partners at NOLA.com, Jaicedric Williams is being held without bond on 11 counts of attempted first-degree murder after police say he fired into a crowd. Williams was arrested on Sunday by federal marshals.

The NOLA.com report says Williams was arrested in October 2020 for allegedly punching a woman in the face. One month after bailing himself out of jail in that case, Williams was arrested again on charges he robbed a man at gunpoint. The NOLA.com story cites court records documenting the arrests.
