The four teenagers indicted in the brutal carjacking that killed 73-year-old Linda Frickey pleaded not guilty in criminal court on Wednesday.
John Honore, 17, Lenyra Theophile, 15, Briniyah Baker, 16, and Mar’Qel Curtis, 15 face second-degree murder charges after they allegedly carjacked Frickey in March outside her Mid-City home. She was dragged for blocks and her arm was severed as the teens allegedly fled in her stolen vehicle.
On April 28, Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams decided to charge the teens as adults saying, “…not a single one [of the teenagers] did anything to disengage, walk away, or assist Mrs. Frickey just to save her life.”
