Video of the mayor of New Orleans shows her raising a middle finger as she addressed the Krewe of Tucks parade as it passed the reviewing stands at Gallier Hall.
As the mayor told the krewe, "We love you. God bless you," she was giving Tucks officials the finger.
She flipped off the krewe as she continued to say, "Happy Mardi Gras. Enjoy your ride... Love you!"
The video does not show what was happened in the float as she was addressing the riders. It is not clear if anyone on the float was sharing any hand gestures with Cantrell.
Tucks is known for its biting satire of public officials and general irreverence.
One rider at the front of a float early in the parade did have a large sign that read, "Vappie Mardi Gras."
NOPD Officer Jeffrey Vappie was Cantrell's personal body guard and is currently in divorce proceedings with his wife. In here filings, his estranged wife says Vappie admitted to an affair with an individual referred to as LT. The same initials as LaToya Cantrell.
Cantrell denies having an affair with Vappie. His lawyer says he never admitted to an affair.
The mayor and Vappie were seen on surveillance video going into a city owned apartment alone for hours at a time.
