LSU running back Trey Holly is proclaiming his innocence after he was arrested last week in connection with a shooting at a north Louisiana apartment complex.
On Friday, Holly was surrendered to Union Parish sheriff’s deputies and booked on attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a weapon charges. His bond was set at $512,000.
On his Twitter and Facebook pages, Holly said he was “falsely identified, accused, and arrested” in connection with that shooting, which left two people hospitalized.
“I am 100% innocent and the people that know me know this is not my character at all,” Holly wrote in his social media post. “I was not involved in the incident at all. I was at home which is where the incident took place. I turned myself in because I was notified of an arrest warrant and I wanted to fully cooperate. Due to this being an ongoing investigation I cannot give many details.”
Holly also apologized to his fans, reiterating that he was not one of the gunmen.
“I will come back better than ever and I look forward to proving my innocence,” Holly wrote.
Union Parish Sheriff Dusty Gates says two other suspects were arrested and that more arrests are expected in the case.
