For the first time since early January, your New Orleans Saints are back at the Superdome. The Who Dat Nation should be aware of the ongoing construction and some changes for this season.
The upgrades the Superdome aren't done yet, so fans will have to deal with some inconvenience as they pardon the progress.
"The biggest thing that changed is the concourses that were already narrow are a little more narrow," said New Orleans Saints Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ben Hales. "That's because a lot of construction's going on behind those wall to really open the building up all the way to the skin."
To make up for it, they have converted part of the Superdome's outdoor plaza into an extension of the indoor plaza level -- fans will go through security and have their tickets scanned on the plaza farther away from the building than usual. When entering the dome, fans are encouraged to go in through gate specified on their tickets.
"On the mobile tickets will be your personal game plan," said Hales. "There's going to be a specific set of instructions for how you should enter the building to get to your specific seat in your section."
And some of the bathrooms are out of commission because of the construction -- but they have a plan for that.
"Each one of those fixtures has been replaced on the plaza exterior," Hales explained. "And to be clear, these are nice, flushable fixtures with sinks and attendants and everything else."
Hales said setting up portable toilets like you'd find on the neutral ground at Mardi Gras would not be idea, especially in the August and September heat.
The game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Caesars Superdome, and if you can't make it, you can always listen to the game here on WWL.
