NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – One man was shot and another was injured after a fight in what appeared to be an incident of road rage on Long Island Tuesday night, Nassau County Police say.
The confrontation occurred at around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Bellmore Road and Magnolia Road in North Bellmore.
After the two men exited their vehicles, they engaged in a verbal dispute.
One then hit the other with a flashlight.
The other, a retired law enforcement officer with a valid Nassau County pistol permit, then pulled a gun at shot the man wielding the flashlight in the buttocks.
Both men were treated at the hospital.
Police say charges are pending.
