NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Ten people on Staten Island were arrested for allegedly transporting dead alligators and possessing illegal fireworks, police said.

The group was arrested and charged with “multiple counts of unlawfully dealing with dangerous fireworks and unlawfully transporting three alligator carcasses,” the New York City Sheriff’s Office tweeted Wednesday.

The office attached a photo of the fireworks haul to its tweet. It wasn’t immediately clear where the arrests took place.

“We are not making that up,” the office said of the alligator carcasses.
