HILLSIDE, NJ (1010 WINS) -- 12 passengers suffered minor injuries following a collision between a New Jersey senior center bus with a vehicle on Thursday.
According to RLS Metro, the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Central Avenue in Hillside.
A preliminary investigation determined the driver of a Hyundai sedan ran the stop sign at Long Avenue as the bus was traveling south on Central Avenue authorites said.The Hyundai then struck the rear right side of the bus near the bumper, causing the bus driver to lose control and strike a nearby utility pole police said.
The bus took down two utility poles and there are downed power lines.
An investigation is ongoing.
