NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed at his apartment building in Brooklyn Friday evening, and sources say he may not have been the intended target.
The NYPD continued to investigate Saturday morning at the two-story apartment building near the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and East 26th Street in Flatbush-Ditmas Park.
Police say Samuel Joseph was shot in the face, neck and chest in a hallway of his building around 5:45 p.m.
He was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.
Sources tell 1010 WINS he may have been a bystander.
His mother was inconsolable Saturday morning, screaming "Why?" as her family tried to comfort her.

A family friend named Paul Gerard said Samuel was a wonderful boy who had just been out getting groceries moments before he was killed.
"A good person, very straight kid," he said, adding such a tragedy was something that "nobody can endure."
