
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested two teenage girls on Thursday in connection to the vandalism on St. Patrick's Cathedral last month during the protests over the death of George Floyd.
Officials made the arrests after an investigation over several weeks.
Authorities took 18-year-old Anaya Diaz, of Mohegan Lake into custody and she was charged with criminal mischief and graffiti.Officers also arrested a 17-year-old girl at her Ossining home with one count criminal mischief, felony, and one count making graffitti.
She will be charged as a juvenile.Police say on May 30, the vandals spray-painted George Floyd's name on one of the stairs and "BLM" on the wall before running on East 51st Street towards Madison Avenue.
Previously officials arrested Yadir Rosas, 26, in connection to the vandalism, and he is believed to be their driver.
He is charged with criminal mischief and graffiti.
