NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A new study released Tuesday provides insight into how big a problem vaping has become among young people.
The National Youth Tobacco survey questioned more than 19,000 middle and high school students earlier this year.
It found that more than 27 percent of high schoolers and 10 percent of middle school children were using e-cigarettes, and Juul was the brand of choice for the majority.
An even higher percentage of those who used said they used flavored e-cigs.
Menthol and mint flavors have risen in popularity over the last year.
The survey suggests that more than five million school age children in the United States regularly vape.
