NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Canadian officials announced on Saturday afternoon that three patients in the Toronto area have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases in the country so far to 19.
In a statement, the Chief Medical Officer of Health for the province of Ontario, where Toronto is located, said a woman, 34, with a travel history to Iran presented herself to a medical clinic in the Toronto suburb of Richmond Hill on Thursday with symptoms.
A couple also tested positive for the virus at a medical clinic in another Toronto suburb, Ajax. The man is 69 and the woman is 51. She had recently returned from Iran, but her husband had no such travel history. She had symptoms of a cough, body aches, and chills.
The couple has also been put in self-isolation.
