NEW YORK (1010 WINS) –  Forty-six state attorneys general have signed on to an antitrust investigation into Facebook, says NY Attorney General Letitia James in a statement Tuesday morning.

James said in the statement, "Facebook may have put consumer data at risk, reduced the quality of consumers' choices, and increased the price of advertising. As we continue our investigation, we will use every investigative tool at our disposal to determine whether Facebook's actions stifled competition and put users at risk."

The state initially began its investigation with the support of seven additional states and Washington D.C in September.

Newly added states include Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware and Indiana.
