NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An apparent gas leak has led to the evacuation of five buildings in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood.
A gas leak was reported at 77 Freeman Street around 2 p.m., according to the FDNY, after an odor of gas was detected in the area.
The other buildings evacuated were 74, 79, 81 and 89 Freeman Street. They were evacuated as a precaution.
It was unclear how many people were affected by the leak or the cause of the leak.
