NEWARK (1010 WINS) – A list of America's 50 "most miserable" cities includes nine in New Jersey.
What makes a city miserable? Business Insider looked at the employment rate, income levels, poverty rate, rates of health insurance, commute time and crime stats using census data from 1,000 cities.
Passaic was number four, Newark was number five and Union City was number 15.
Gary, Indiana, was number one on the list.
California had the most cities on the list at 10—one more than New Jersey, which had the second most. Florida was third with six cities.
New York and Connecticut had no cities on the list.
