NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 9-year-old boy who disappeared early Friday morning -- prompting an Amber Alert -- has been found safe, New York State Police announced Friday night.
"UPDATE: The New York State Police Clifton Park is cancelling the AMBER Alert that was activated at 4:23 AM on 5/8/2020 regarding Gustavo Oliveira. The child has been located safely," read a tweet posted at 9:51 p.m.
Police said Gustavo Oliveira disappeared around 1 a.m. on Tallow Wood Drive in Clifton Park, a suburb about 12 miles north of the state's capital.
"The child was taken under circumstances that lead police to believe that they are in imminent danger of serious bodily harm and/or death," police said.
The police search for Oliveira moved to Tivoli Lake Preserve in Albany, according to WRGB Albany, but early Friday night, New Jersey State Police announced, "The New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit is assisting the New York State Police with an amber alert issued in New York State."
The child had last been seen with Nivaldo Oliveira, 41, police said. Their relationship is unclear.
