NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Three bodies were recovered from the wreckage of Sunday's helicopter accident, which killed Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and 7 others, officials said Monday. Identities of the three were not provided.
"Investigators recovered three bodies from the helicopter wreckage located in the 4200 block of Las Virgenes Road in Calabasas," the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner said in a statement. "However, efforts were suspended due to darkness and safety concerns."
The statement continued, "the bodies retrieved from the site were transported to the department's Forensic Science Center for identification and examination. Today, the search continues in the Calabasas mountainside for the other occupants in the fatal helicopter crash."
The sudden death of the 41-year-old NBA legend and his 13-year-old daughter led to the outpour of grief by people around the world, but among those killed in the helicopter crash on Sunday in Calabasas, California were two of her teammates and their family members. Here are the victims:
KOBE BRYANT
Kobe was a five-time NBA champion, a two-time Olympic gold medalist who retired in 2016. He went on to win an Academy Award in 2018 for his animiated short "Dear Basketball. Bryant married wife Vanessa Bryant in 2001 and was a father of four. His daughter Gianna Bryant was also in the helicopter with him.
GIANNA BRYANT
Kobe's second oldest daughter, Gianna was also among those killed. Gianna was often called "Gigi" played AAU basketball and was part of her dads Mamba Sports Academy training facility in Thousand Oaks. She had aspirations to one day join the WNBA and carry on her father's legacy.
ARA ZOBAYAN
The pilot in the helicopter crash was identified as Ara Zobayan. Zobayan received his commercial piolot certificate in 2007, according to the FAA.
JOHN, KERI AND ALYSSA ALTOBELLI
John Altobelli was a College baseball coach at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. His wife, Keri and their daughter Alyssa also died in the crash, the Altobelli family confirmed.
Alyssa was one of Gianna Bryant's basketball teammates.
John and Keri Altobelli are survived by two other children, their son JJ and daughter Alexis, according to the Brewster Whitecaps, a Cape Cod baseball team for which John Altobelli was a coach.
CHRISTINA MAUSER
Christina Mauser was an assistant basketball coach at Harbor Day School in Newport Beach, where Kobe's daughter attended school. Her huband, Matt Mauser posted on Facebook that she was killed in the helicopter crash. "My kids and I are devastated. We lost our beautiful wife and mom today in a helicopter crash," Matt Mauser wrote. "Please respect our privacy. Thank you for all the well wishes they mean so much."

SARAH AND PAYTON CHESTER
Sarah Chester and her daughter Payton were on also on board. Payton was a teammate of Gianna Bryant on the Mamba Sports Academy girls basketball team. Both Sarah and Payton were identified by friends and family.
