NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Bloomingdales has pulled a T-shirt with "Fake News" emblazoned across it, after journalists complained that it fostered the notion that, well, news is fake.

"Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we apologize for any offense we may have caused," Bloomingdale's tweeted Monday in response to a journalist who tweeted about it. "We take this feedback very seriously and are working quickly to remove this t-shirt. Again, thank you for taking the time to alert us."

And a Bloomingdale's rep told Fox News, the shirt "was immediately removed from our selling floor and we apologize to anyone who found this t-shirt distressing."

A PIX11 reporter, Allison Kaden, was one of the first to bring the T-shirt to the retailer's attention.

"Hey @Bloomingdales, this isn't funny or fashionable," she wrote, including a photo of the T-shirt on a mannequin at the Lexington Avenue store. "It further delegitimizes hard working journalists who bring REAL news to their communties [sic>."
