NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Sen. Cory Booker said President Trump is "worse than a racist" during an interview on CNN Sunday morning.
The Democratic candidate's comments come amid an escalating feud between Trump and four Democratic congresswomen known as "the squad." Last weekend, Trump tweeted the four should "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came."
"The reality is this is a guy who is worse than a racist. He is actually using racist tropes and racial language for political gain. He is trying to use this as a weapon to divide our nation against itself," Booker said on CNN's "State of the Union."
"This is a guy who is worse than a racist," said 2020 candidate Cory Booker on #CNNSOTU. "We have a demagogue, fear-mongering person who is using race to divide. This is a referendum, not on him, it's actually a referendum on the heart and soul of our country." pic.twitter.com/e9ogmujAJi

Trump doubled down on Sunday, tweeting that he doesn't believe the congresswomen "are capable of loving our country."
