Boston's St. Patrick's Day parade canceled, NYC parade still scheduled

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Boston's St. Patrick's Day Parade, scheduled for Sunday has been canceled over "an abundance of caution" in light of concern over the coronavirus outbreak, Mayor Marty Walsh said Monday.

"Boston's St. Patrick's Day Parade, scheduled for 3/15/20, is being canceled," Walsh said in a statement. "This decision is being made out of an abundance of caution to ensure that we are doing what is needed to keep the residents of Boston safe and healthy."

As of Monday, New York City's parade is still scheduled for March 17.

"We do not have a plan to cancel the parade at this point," De Blasio said Monday. "We’re going to watch that day to day, hour to hour."
