NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Colin Jost is "preparing mentally" to leave "Saturday Night Live," he writes in his upcoming memoir, of which Variety obtained uncorrected galley proofs.

In "A Very Punchable Face," out April 14, Jost -- who is the co-host of "Weekend Update" and the show's co-head writer -- suggests he would like to stay with the show through the 2020 election, which is in November. But because of contractual obligations, he would likely stay the whole year.

Jost, who became engaged to Scarlett Johansson last spring, said he wants to focus on developing bigger, broader ideas.

It is important to note, though, that the uncorrected galley proofs may change before the memoir's publication in April.
