Conn. mom charged with leaving 3-year-old alone in hot car

SHELTON, Conn. (AP) -- Police say a Connecticut woman left her 3-year-old daughter in a hot car with the windows closed while bringing her 5-year-old son into a school.Laura Boyle, of Shelton, was charged with risk of injury to a child. Police also said she was driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, and that her driver's license had been suspended.Police went to Mohegan School Wednesday after someone noticed the girl alone in the car. The outside temperature was around 77 degrees.Boyle told officers she only left her daughter alone for a short time. Police said surveillance video showed Boyle going into the school for 10 minutes before returning to check on the girl, then leaving her alone again for about 20 minutes.The child was unhurt and released to her father.
