Connecticut reports 1 new COVID-19 death as infection rate stays at 1.1%

HARTFORD, CT (1010 WINS) -- Connecticut reported one new COVID-19 death on Tuesday as its infection rate remained at 1.1 percent, Gov. Ned Lamont said. 

Of the 12,044 COVID-19 test results that came back on Monday, 136, or 1.1 percent, were positive, Lamont tweeted. The state also reported a 1.1 percent infection rate on Monday, based on test results that came back on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.


The new COVID-19 fatality brought Connecticut's death toll to 4,496, data from its health department shows. As of Monday evening, 70 people in the state were hospitalized with COVID-19, up by two from Sunday, Lamont said. 

Connecticut also added five states to its travel advisory on Tuesday: Arizona, Minnesota, Nevada, Rhode Island and Wyoming.
