HARTFORD, CT (1010 WINS) -- The total number of positive COVID-19 cases in Connecticut declined on Wednesday as the state removed "duplicates" from its system, the health department said.

Gov. Ned Lamont on Tuesday reported 430 new coronavirus cases, bringing the state's total to 41,303.
On Wednesday, however, the Connecticut Department of Public Health revised that number to remove 356 positive cases that were found to be duplicates, it said. It wasn't immediately clear how the error happened.
As of Tuesday night, 41,288 state residents had tested positive for COVID-19, the department said.
Connecticut on Wednesday also reported 34 new COVID-19 deaths, bringing the state's death toll to 3,803. The health department did not identify any duplicate deaths in the system.
As of Tuesday evening, 684 people in the state were hospitalized with COVID-19, the department said Wednesday.
