NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Things are breaking bad for someone on Long Island.
Police were alerted to a man passed out on the lawn Friday and discovered an apparent chemical laboratory in a detached garage on Friday.
The incident occurred on West Beech Street in Long Beach.
Officers came upon the man, and while investigating came across a heat source and chemicals that were heating up in the garage.
Authorities released a statement saying, "The Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office hazardous materials team and recon team is presently operating at the scene of a chemical lab in the garage of a private home. There was one civilian removed by LBFD Ambulance in serious condition."
The man was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Some neighbors were evacuated as a precaution.
