CORONAVIRUS IN CONNECTICUT: 5,675 cases, deaths rise by 24 to 189

HARTFORD (1010 WINS) – Gov. Ned Lamont said Sunday that the number of coronavirus cases in the state had surpassed 5,600 and that deaths were approaching 200.

There were 5,675 total cases in the state, 399 more than on Saturday, Lamont said.

The death toll rose by 24 to 189 Sunday, the governor said.

At least 1,142 people are hospitalized with the coronavirus in the state, 109 more since Saturday.

Overall 23,270 people have been tested, including 1,241 tested between Saturday and Sunday.

The most coronavirus cases have been reported in Fairfield County: 3,050. There have been 96 deaths in the county.

The second most cases have been confirmed in New Haven County: 1,162. At least 36 people have died from the virus there.

Hartford County has seen 751 cases and 29 deaths.
