Couple, son accused of burying boy in snow over forgotten bible verses

MANITOWOC, Wis. (1010 WINS) -- A Wisconsin couple and their teenage son are charged in the death of a 7-year-old boy.

The boy was allegedly beaten, forced to carry a heavy log, and buried in the snow for failing to remember bible verses.

Timothy and Tina Hauschultz were charged along with 15-year-old son Damian, in the death of Ethan Hauschultz, WFRV reports.

Authorities say Timothy made the 60 lbs Ethan carry a 45 lbs log around the family's snow covered backyard, and made his teenage son supervise.

A criminal complaint says Damian admitted to hitting Ethan 100 times with a belt or stick, rolled a log across his chest, stood on top of the boy and packed him under 80 lbs of snow for 20 to 30 minutes.

Ethan died of hypothermia and blunt force injuries, the sheriff's office said.

Damian was charged with reckless homicide, child abuse, and battery. Timothy was charged with felony murder, child abuse, battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a child. Tina was charged with being party to the crimes of contributing to the delinquincy of a child, and failing to act to prevent bodily harm to a child.
