NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Dozens of protesters were arrested in Times Square on Saturday while protesting federal immigration officials and the NYPD.
Police said 86 people were arrested in the protests.
The protesters chanted "ICE equals Nazis," "abolish the police," and "Black lives matter."
At one point, some of the protesters sat down and blocked traffic at Broadway and W. 46th Street and refused to move. They were warned by police several times before being taken into custody.
Some protesters who weren't arrested continued taunting officers, chanting and telling them to quit their jobs.
No injuries were reported.
Many protesters accused U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement of mistreating migrants, including claims that migrants were subjected to questionable hysterectomies at a detention center in Georgia. ICE's acting director, Tony Pham, said Friday that the agency was looking into the allegations and if they are true officials would "make the corrections necessary."
