PATERSON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A woman went through a nightmare after her sister got her in legal hot water.
Last November, Samantha Humienny was stopped by Paterson police for a prostitution related charge.

She gave them the name of her sister, Jaclyn Humienny, who lives in Florida and is studying to become a teacher.
Jaclyn told ABC7 she fears that having a criminal record could ruin her career.
She said she tried to fix it, but had to hire a lawyer after she got the run around from police and the court.
"Both times I called the police they hung up on me," Humienny explained. "And told me there was nothing they could do, that it was out of their hands."
Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale said the matter came to his attention, and he agreed to help rectify the problem.
Humienny said there should have been more done to check her sister's identity, especially given her prior record.
