NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A fire tore through an apartment in a six-story building in the Lower East Side Wednesday afternoon, an FDNY spokesperson said.
The apartment was on the fifth floor at 112 Suffolk St. between Rivington and Delancey streets.
The fire occured at approximately 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, said the FDNY.
Twelve units and 60 firefighters responded.
No injuries have been reported yet.
The spokesperson said emergency personnel believed they had a handle on the fire by 1 p.m., but the fire was not yet entirely under control.
