
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Paul Ryan is joining the board of the Fox Corporation.

The former Speaker of the House was appointed to the parent company of Fox News along with three others on Tuesday. CNN reports, it's a necessary step in wrapping up the Disney-Fox deal.
Most of 21st Century Fox, including its movie studio and entertainment channels, will be acquired by Disney. The rest of the company will remain under the Fox banner and be run by Rupert Murdoch's son Lachlan. Rupert will remain on as co-chairman.
Formula 1 chief Chase Carey, Annie Dias, and Roland Hernandez are also joining the board.
CNN reports, Ryan and Murdoch have been friendly for a long time, with Murdoch referring to Ryan as a presidential contender that he had 'particular admiration for.'
