NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A former staffer at an Upper East Side high school has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing one female student and propositioning another, prosecutors say.
Ex-Hunter College High School staffer Asumana Randolph, 62, was charged with one count of forcible touching, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of third-degree sexual abuse on Thursday, a complaint filed with the Manhattan District Attorney's office says.
Randolph was a science club coach and lab technician at the school for more than two decades before he resigned last year, the New York Post reported.
Prosecutors say a female student, who was under the age of 17, was alone in Randolph's office with him in October 2018 when he told her he'd had a sexual relationship with another student 10 or 15 years ago.
Randolph then told the girl he had "the same feelings" for her as he'd had for that student, and asked her if she wanted to have a "similar relationship," the criminal complaint says.
A few months later, on Feb. 2, 2019, Randolph kissed a second girl on the mouth without her consent several times inside the school building, according to the complaint.
The Department of Education didn't immediately respond to request for comment on Randolph's arrest. His attorney couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Randolph was released under supervision and is expected to appear in court again on Nov. 24.
