'Justice!' Fotis Dulos, estranged husband of missing CT mom charged with capital murder

NEW CANAAN, Conn. (1010 WINS) -- Fotis Dulos the estranged husband of missing mom Jennifer Dulos has been arrested Tuesday his attorney confirmed.

Fotis was charged with capital murder, murder and kidnapping in his estranged wife's disappearance, according to state police. 

Michelle Troconis, Fotis Dulos’s girlfriend, was also charged with conspiracy to commit murder officials said.

Kent Mawhinney, who previously represented Fotis in a civil lawsuit filed by Gloria Farber, Dulos’s mother-in-law was charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

New Cannan Police Department tweeted "Justice!" after the arrests were made.

Jennifer Dulos, a mother of five vanished May 24 after dropping her children off at school.

Fotis and Dulos were going through a contentious divorce and child custody battle at the time of her disappearance. 

Carrie Luft, the spokesperson for the family of Jennifer Dulos made a statement on Behalf of the Family and Friends of Jennifer Farber Dulos. 

"Above all we thank the Connecticut State Police and the New Canaan Police Department, as well as the assisting local departments, for their tireless commitment and diligent, painstaking work that have led to these arrests. Although we are relieved that the wait for these charges is over, for us there is no sense of closure. Nothing can bring Jennifer back. We miss her every day and will forever mourn her loss."

"We believe the arrest warrants will speak for themselves, and we ask that you please respect our privacy during this time. Thank you," Luft adds.

Fotis Dulos is expected to face a $6 million bond hearing, which Dulos' lawyer Norm Pattis said he is working to expedite. Fotis Dulos' arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday.

Troconis' bond was set at $2 million, officials said.

Previously, Fotis Dulos and Troconis, pleaded not guilty to evidence tampering and hindering prosecution.

Police alleged Fotis Dulos and Tronconis discarded items containing Jennifer Dulos' blood in Hartford.

Surveillance video obtained by police shows Dulos and Tronconis placing the trash bags at receptacles in the city, according to the documents, which reveal that the bags contained clothing and cleaning items stained with Jennifer Dulos' blood.
