NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Cardi B may not be from Flushing, but Fran Drescher thinks the Manhattan-born, Bronx-raised rapper would be perfect to play Fran Fine in a reboot of "The Nanny."
Drescher, who starred in the CBS show from 1993 to 1999 and executive produced it, said she's met with Cardi B's team about a reboot of the sitcom.
"That was just kind of laying out groundwork," Drescher told "Entertainment Tonight." "I do think she's great, and she would be kinda like my top choice, if she's disciplined to do this show every week. It can be a grind, but she's got a baby now and it could be a very comfortable, lovely way to, you know, work, be seen worldwide, and still do mini-concert tours when you're on hiatus."
Cardi B's daughter, Kulture, celebrated her first birthday in July.
Drescher told "ET" that she floated the idea of Cardi B in a reboot late last year.
She said that she has not spoken to Cardi B personally, but she adds that Cardi B "compares herself to me in a lot in photos."
In September 2018 for example, Cardi B posted to Instagram a photo of herself in matching animal print boots and jacket, writing "Fran Drescher in @dolcegabanna."
