NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- France and Israel are going into lockdown mode, announcing on Saturday that both countries will be shutting down restaurants, cafes and theaters, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread in both nations.

And on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced that he was tested for coronavirus and that he tested negative.

Israel's response to the potentially-deadly disease is one of the world's strictest, banning indoor gatherings of more than 10 people. 193 Israelis have tested positive for the virus.

France has banned gatherings of more than 100. Schools are closed and office workers have been urged to work from home.

Foreigners are not allowed into Israel unless they can prove they are able to self-quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival.

French health authorities said more than 4,500 cases have been confirmed in France on Saturday, including 91 deaths.
