NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — As fans are still coping with the series finale of Game of Thrones, many are donating the charities associated with cast members. In total, 125K has been donated to charities like SameYou and Mencap
Emilia Clarke posted a video to Instagram thanking her fans for donating to SameYou – an organization devoted towards neurorehabilitation which she cofounded.
"You guys are literally helping me and in doing that you are helping us change the world, change the world of recovery, change the world of brain injury," Clarke said in her Instagram video.
The efforts started on Elle Elaria's reddit page according to Clarke and have reached a 100K in donations.
Clarke has recently opened up about her brain injuries which prompted the creation of SameYou. After surviving two brain hemorrhages, Clarke's SameYou works to provide accessible neurorehabilitation.
Other fans are putting their efforts towards Mencap where Kit Harrington is an ambassador. Mencap is a charity that helps people with learning disabilities in the UK. After Harrington checked into a mental health center following the series finale, fans have donated to Mencap in his name.
"I can't believe, I am so incredibly blown away, and moved, and grateful," Clarke said.
