WASHINGTON (1010 WINS) -- Former Vice President Joe Biden has officially launched his bid for the 2020 Democratic nomination, but the party is far from falling in lock step behind him.
The group, which helped boost AOC in her 2018 campaign, said Biden could divide the party and squelch enthusiasm for progressive policies like the Green New Deal and single-payer health care. The group added that 'old guard' Democrats were unable to beat Trump in 2016, and wouldn't be able to motivate the party's base in 2020. They said they would, however, support whoever won the Democratic nomination.
Biden told supporters on Thursday morning that the 'soul of this nation' is at stake in 2020.
