NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Hillary Clinton talked about her new Hulu documentary, women’s rights, the 2020 Democratic primary and what it’d be like to live in a fictional world where she is president.
The new four-part documentary series “Hillary” premiers on Hulu on March 6.
Asked why she agreed to take part in the documentary, Clinton said: “I decided to do it because I’m not running for anything and I think my life and my story has parallels with women’s lives and stories and what’s going on in politics.”
She continued: “Thirty-five hours sitting in a chair answering questions is grueling but I felt like if I didn’t tell my side of the story, who would?”
Asked about the progress made on women’s rights in her lifetime, she said progress has been made, but: “We have all these forces—political and ideological and religious and financial—arrayed against further progress. And we have a president who is a willing tool. He doesn’t believe any of this stuff. He has absolutely no core beliefs whatsoever.”
Clinton said she isn't endorsing any candidate in the Democratic primary: “I just want whoever can beat him to get the nomination. Beat him in the Electoral College. That’s all I care about. I’m not going through this again!”
When the interviewer, Joy Press, mentioned William Gibson’s new novel “Agency,” which is set in a fictional world in which Hillary is president, Clinton gasped.
“Oh, I’d love to read it!” she said. “I’m not the president and I got more votes. It’s so crazy! So I’m interested in somebody writing something about a different ending.”
“I want to live in that world!” she added.
