WASHINGTON (1010 WINS) -- As expected, Attorney General William Barr was a no-show at Thursday morning's scheduled House Judiciary hearing on the Mueller Report.

Barr answered questions for five hours on Wednesday, before the Senate Judiciary panel, but he objected to the format of the House hearing and being questioned by lawyers for the committee in addition to its members.

Chairman Jerry Nadler said Barr's refusal to appear is unacceptable and said his 'moment of accountability' will come if he does not give the committee the 'respect it deserves.'

Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., left a prop chicken at the empty witness' chair.

"Chicken Barr should have shown up today and answered questions," he told reporters.

The ranking member of the committee, Republican Doug Collins, said the real reason Barr wasn't there to testify is because the Democrats didn't want him there. Collins called Thursday actions by Democrats a stunt.

The committee is now considering whether to hold Barr in contempt of Congress.
