PATERSON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- An investigation was launched by New Jersey's attorney general's office over a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred on Godwin Avenue in Paterson on Thursday afternoon.
The shooting occurred after 4 p.m. on Godwin Avenue near the 4th Ward officials say.
One man sustained fatal injuries after he brandished a gun and failed to respond to officers' instructions for him to drop the weapon, NJ.com reports.
Several shots were fired, the report adds.
It is not clear if more than one officer fired a weapon.
