NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The deadly attack by a pair of shooters -- identified David Anderson and Francine Graham -- in Jersey City Tuesday is being investigated as a possible act of "domestic terrorism," the state's Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said at a press conference Thursday afternoon.
"The evidence points towards acts of hate," he said. "I can confirm that we're investigating this matter as potential acts of domestic terrorism, fueled both by anti-Semitism and anti-law enforcement beliefs."
Grewal said officials believe the pair -- who killed a police officer and three bystanders -- acted alone.
"Based on what we have collected so far, we believe that suspects that reflected of the Jewish people as well as the hatred of law enforcement," Grewal said. "There has been considerable reporting that these two suspects are linked to the Black Hebrew Israelite movement. We have evidence that both expressed interest in this group but we have not definitively established any formal links to that organization or any other group ... Based on the available evidence, we believe the two shooters were acting on their own."
