JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Jersey City has issued a boil water advisory through 5 p.m. on Saturday due to a water testing “irregularity,” officials said Friday.
“As we work through testing citywide, out of an abundance of caution all Jersey City residents are asked to boil water for consumption now through 5 p.m. Saturday 8/15,” the city tweeted.
In a tweet, Mayor Steven Fulop said there was an “irregularity isolated near Christ Hospital yesterday.”
“It subsequently tested ok, we then test upstream/downstream which we’ve been doing,” he wrote. “Until all test results come back OK, we’re advised to implement a boil advisory.”
Officials didn’t immediately provide any additional information about the “irregularity.”
