Jewel thief busts in through roof, takes off with $1 million in loot

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A million dollar jewel heist that went down in Queens, played out like the script of a movie.

The details are incredible, and it all really happened sometime between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Cops say the thief cut a hole in the roof of Shlomi Jewelry and Shoes, and slipped inside.

He didn't just grab a couple items and split, but stuck around for 4 hours and stuffed his pockets with jewelry before heading out the same way he got in.

The store's managers found the hole when they arrived for work.
