NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The e-cigarette company Juul announced Thursday that they will suspend all sales of their fruity flavors ahead of looming US ban by the Trump administration.

Juul will continue selling its mint, menthol and tobacco flavors, but as of 1 p.m. on Thursday, consumers will no longer be able to purchase the mango, creme brulee, fruit and cucumber flavored pods until the FDA finishes a pending review, the company announced.

“We continue to review our policies and practices in advance of FDA’s flavor guidance and have not made any final decisions,” Juul spokesman Austin Finan said in a statement. “We are refraining from lobbying the Administration on its draft flavor guidance and will fully support and comply with the final policy when effective.”

Nationally, as of October 1, 2019, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control reported more than 1,000 cases of vaping-associated illnesses, with 18 confirmed fatalities.
